The Horseshoe Layout: Tarot Layouts to See the Future

The Horseshoe Layout is one of the most commonly used Tarot layouts for seeing the future. Named for its shape of the placement of Tarot cards, this layout is best for direction on specific questions regarding one’s life. For example, deciding whether to move to a different city, or whether or not to quit your job are excellent questions for the Horseshoe layout. It is also a good “starter” Tarot reading, as it is not quite as in-depth as other types of readings. The Horseshoe layout is relatively easy to interpret and consists of only a few cards. It is widely considered a great way to familiarize oneself with the meanings of the cards. The Horseshoe Layout consists of seven different cards. The function of each card must be read specifically from left to right for these Tarot layouts to be interpreted accurately. The purpose of reading the cards in this order is to reveal all components of the answers to the question from past, to present, to the future. Before performing the reading, the cards should be shuffled and cut by the reader or the subject. The question at hand should be concentrated upon before the reading and framed as bluntly as possible before the cards are drawn. Seven cards are drawn and placed one-by-one in the Horseshoe or half-circle shape. The standard order of the Horseshoe layout cards reads: Past, Present, Future, The Querent, Environment, Obstacle, and Resolution.
